ASG2 is the first farnesylated DDB1 binding WD40 protein related to ABA response

A farnesylated DWD protein linked to ABA responses.

Our research thematic on protein prenylation in plants has driven the characterization of a new prenylated protein involved in the negative regulation of the ABA signaling pathway. This new protein, named ASG2 (ALTERED SEED GERMINATION 2), was previously associated with the seed germination process. ASG2 is conserved among plant species and displays a unique feature associating WD40 domains and tetratricopeptide repeats. ASG2 is farnesylated in vitro on a C-terminal CaaX-box. More details here.
